Noraxis Energy

Noraxis Energy is an expert player in the management of energy assets. Its first complete project was the leasing of a photovoltaic greenhouse business unit in Villasor (CA), Sardinia.  The plant, one of the largest in existence, is used for the cultivation of roses; one of the park’s floral products, called the ‘Smeralda Green Show’, is listed on the Royal Flora Holland flower trading platform (Amsterdam).

In addition, Noraxis Energy provides services in the electricity and heating sector relating to the generation, transmission, distribution and final consumption stage, as well as the maintenance of energy plants, systems and equipment, and the performance of administrative activities.

Other operations in Sardinia and the rest of Italy for the development of photovoltaic plants with total capacity of over 1 GW are at an advanced stage.

The company, which is part of Tiberiade Holding, was founded in January 2020 to oversee the sector of sustainable investments in clean energy production and agricultural activities.

Noraxis Energy is committed to reducing the negative impact of fossil fuels and combating climate change by combining its expertise with technology and innovation. In the field of renewable energies, it builds and manages power plants and develops initiatives in the area of photovoltaic energy.

Areas of expertise:

  • development and construction of energy projects;
  • development and management of plants for the production of electricity from renewable sources;
  • provision of services in the electricity and heating sector relating to generation, transmission, distribution and final consumption;
  • performance of all technical and administrative activities related to photovoltaic plants.

Noraxis Energy is led by Chairman of the Board of Directors, Carlo Petagna, and also grows roses and various kinds of flowers, in greenhouses and outdoors, in Villasor, in the Province of South Sardinia, using the electricity produced by the adjoining photovoltaic plants.

Its agricultural and flower growing activities are concentrated in the following areas:

    • production and marketing of agri-food and floriculture products;
    • silviculture and cultivation of agri-food products focused on the practice of organic and biodynamic farming;
    • floriculture, with cultivations in pots, in the ground, in greenhouses or in outdoor gardens;
    • processing and marketing of farming and floral products;
    • processing and marketing of products deriving from farming crops;
    • agricultural transformation and reclamation works.

In particular, Noraxis Energy now boasts a photovoltaic greenhouse park (in “Su Scioffu” in Villasor) with a total capacity of 20 MWp.  This large 26-hectare plant, consisting of 134 greenhouses, has partial photovoltaic coverage, with a total of more than 84,000 polycrystalline silicon panels.

The photovoltaic greenhouse plant covers an area of more than 26 hectares of greenhouses used to grow rose hips (Corallo and Corallo Erecta varieties, Patrucco Selection) and cut roses.

It produces rootstocks, cuttings, tree rose scions and a whole range of garden roses, medicinal roses and cut roses.

Noraxis Energy’s nursery products include:

Smeralda Green Show

The Smeralda Green Show is characterised by its thick, green foliage without thorns. It is a species that is cultivated directly in the soil (it reaches a height of three metres) and grows one centimetre a day after the stem is harvested. The berries can be used to produce many types of products with the characteristics to innovate or meet the demands of a diverse target market, whether the high-end segment or the small-scale or major retail markets.

Cut Roses

In addition to the Smeralda Green Show and Rose hips, the company also has more than 3 hectares of Cut roses of select varieties.

Cuttings

The company produces Corallo and Corallo Erecta cuttings.
